Two Divisions, One Standard: Introducing the New Trademark Universal Stone Website

Sometime around 2012, Trademark quietly became two companies. One of them fabricates kitchens and bathrooms for Louisville families. The other fabricates lobbies, bars, hotel rooms, and airport concourses for general contractors and developers. Same shop, same people, same standard, but two very different kinds of client walking through the door with two very different kinds of question.

For years our website treated them as one. Today, that changes.

What’s new

Two divisions, front and center. The new site is organized around the Residential Division and the Commercial Division from the first click. Homeowners, builders, remodelers, designers, and cabinet companies land in a space built for them. General contractors, developers, architects, and casework companies land in theirs. A one-click switcher at the top of every page moves you between the two, because plenty of our clients are both.

A menu that answers the question you came with. Each division has its own navigation covering stone materials, services, applications, who we serve, portfolio, process, and resources. Looking for quartzite for a kitchen island? Two clicks. Looking for the estimating and submittal process on a 200-unit multifamily project? Also two clicks. You should never have to wade through hotel lobbies to find a fireplace surround, or the reverse.

Portfolios you can actually learn from. The Residential Portfolio and Commercial Portfolio are now full case studies, not just photos. Each one walks through the project, the challenge, the solution, and the materials, so you can see how a job like yours was handled before you call.

The Stone Gallery Visualizer. Pick a room, pick a material, and see it on the walls, the island, or the bar before anything is cut. It is not a substitute for standing in front of the slab, but it is a very good way to narrow the list before you visit.

Meet the Team. Every person at Trademark, with a face, a title, and, in most cases, an opinion about the New York Yankees. When you call, you will know who you are talking to.

Why Trademark, in one place. Seventeen years, the original three partners, two showrooms, one shop, a robot that cuts a slab in eleven minutes, and a quality control team that comes back after every install. It is all on one page now, so you do not have to take our word for it.

Straight answers. Each division has its own FAQ, written from the questions our estimators and client care team hear every week. There is also a downloadable guide, “20 Questions: A Guide to Countertops,” for anyone starting a residential project.

Two ways to start. Homeowners can request a free estimate or book a showroom visit. Commercial clients can send plans and request a takeoff. Both go to a real person who will respond the same week.

Who built it

The site was designed and built by Omythic, the Louisville branding and identity agency led by Mark Palmer.

That name should sound familiar to anyone who has followed Trademark for a while. Mark’s first agency, Makespace, took Trademark on as a client when the company was brand new in 2009, operating out of a basement in Vine Grove with cardboard templates and a garden hose. Mark’s businesses and Trademark’s businesses grew up in Louisville at the same time, and every website, logo refinement, and brand decision Trademark has made since has run through Mark, first at Makespace, then at OOHology, and now at Omythic.

Seventeen years is a long time for any client relationship, and longer still for an agency and a stone fabricator. We think it says something about both companies. We know it says something about the site: it was built by people who already knew what Trademark was before the first meeting.

What’s next

A site is never finished. Over the coming months we will add an interactive lookbook for residential clients, deeper pages on our facilities and our fleet, and more articles like this one, written for both divisions. If there is something you wish the site did, tell us. It was built for you.

Relax. It’s Trademark.

The new site says that in the top corner of every page, and it means what it has always meant. Hand it off. We handle it. Now it is a little easier to hand it off.

Explore the Residential Division. Explore the Commercial Division. Or stop by a showroom on Bishop Lane or in Norton Commons and tell us what you think in person.
