Crowne Plaza Renovation

Project Overview

The Crown Plaza project involved a full-scale renovation of a historic hotel located next to Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport. Tasked with modernizing the space while preserving its iconic elements, the project enhanced the hotel’s lobby, bar, restaurant, and multiple restroom facilities, creating an inviting environment that exudes both sophistication and warmth for travelers and guests.

Challenge

The Crown Plaza renovation faced significant time constraints, as it needed completion by the first Saturday in May to coincide with the Kentucky Derby. This compressed schedule required efficient coordination across various trades, all while juggling parallel projects. Delays in casework installation and alignment with other trades challenged the timeline, making agile and anticipatory planning essential to keep progress on track.

Solution

To address the tight deadlines and coordination needs, Trademark Universal Stone collaborated closely with Buffalo Construction and Project Manager Megan Jones. The team executed the project in nine phases, prioritizing efficient, transparent communication and scheduling with other contractors. Trademark Universal Stone’s ability to anticipate issues and adapt allowed the team to remain ahead of schedule, achieving timely delivery without compromising quality, much to the client’s satisfaction.
